The Rocky Grove High School Oriole Health Club and New Directions Community Credit Union partnered for the third year to raise over $300 to benefit patients of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center at UPMC Northwest. The RGHS Health Club hosted a Community Fundraiser at King’s Family Restaurant in Franklin on March 14. The students raised $163 which was matched by New Directions Community Credit Union. These funds will be used to provide food and gas gift cards to local patients fighting cancer.
In addition to the fundraiser, Health Club members participated in Earth Day celebrations at UPMC Northwest on April 22. The students picked up trash along the walking trail, parking lots, and grounds, and made an informational Earth Day display about the legacy of President Jimmy Carter for the hospital cafeteria.
