The UPMC Northwest School of Radiology is bringing back its painted pumpkin auction for a fourth year, inviting the public to bid on creative pumpkins decorated by radiology students. Bidding is open now through 3 p.m. Monday, October 5.
The pumpkins are on display in the window of the Franklin Area Chamber of Commerce. Each pumpkin also includes a surprise gift card donated by a local business, with values ranging from $10 to $100. The highest bidder for each pumpkin will receive both the pumpkin and the hidden gift card.
Community members can view the pumpkins and place bids online at https://new.biddingowl.com/paintedpumpkinauction.
The auction is a fun way for students to raise funds to help purchase interactive teaching tools for the UPMC Northwest Radiologic Technology Program. Funds raised in prior years recently supported the purchase of two new positioning x-ray manikins.
This year’s gift card sponsors include New Directions Community Credit Union, Top Tier Federal Credit Union, C&A Trees, Cork n Screw Wines, Woods & River Coffee, Linda Lou’s Restaurant, The Olive Vault, Peaceful Horizons LLC, Clark’s Donuts, and PerkUp.
Established more than 55 years ago, the UPMC Northwest Radiologic Technology Program prepares students for rewarding careers as radiographers. The program offers a comprehensive, 23-month certificate course accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
